On recommendation from Stephen Fry on Twitter yesterday, I bought the iF poem app. If you have an iPhone or an iPad BUY IT NOW! It is easily one of the loveliest apps I have ever come across. It features beautiful illustrations (the picture is the opening image you get) and poetry read by Tom Hiddleston, Helena Bonham Carter, Bill Nighy and Harry Enfield all of whom I love. There are all sorts of brilliant poems in there, stuff like Wordsworth and Shakespeare and Keats (in particular a beautiful rendition of Bright Star by Mr Hiddleston). Helena Bonham Carter is a fabulous reader as well, as is Bill Nighy. It’s only £1.99 and 10% of the profits go to Save the Children so you can swoon over sexy English actors reading classic poems and feel good about yourself too! It’s a win win situation!
